Temporary Policy Changes
to Address COVID-19


Due to the COVID-19 virus, ware making some changes in an effort to reduce chances of transmission. We are attempting to minimize interactions with customers, maintain safe distances as recommended by the CDC, hand washing/sanitizing etc. All areas that may have come in contact with any contamination are disinfected multiple times throughout the day. Incoming dog toys, food containers and medication containers will be disinfected before bringing them into the kennel, and before leaving the kennel.

The following changes temporarily superceed the standard policies until further notice.

Pet Food

The 'Pre-bagged Food Discount' is being discontinued. Please do not bring food for your dog unless your dog has a medical need to have a certain food. In that case, please bring the food in a freshly washed plastic container with enough food for their stay, plus a little extra in case you are delayed in returning. These containers will be disinfected before bringing them in the kennel, and before sending them home.

Medications

Place medications in a clean plastic bag or plastic container. These items will be disinfected before bringing them in the kennel.

Bedding, Towels, T-Shirts, Luggage

No bedding or other cloth items will be allowed in the kennel.

Toys

No cloth or rope toys may be left with your pet. Hard rubber toys and bones are allowed and will be disinfected before bringing them into the kennel and before sending them home. Please bring these toys in a plastic bag.

Check-Ins & Check-Outs

Check-Ins and Check-Outs are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and will occur during the following hours:

Monday – Friday    8:00 - 10:00 AM 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Saturday    8:00 - 10:00 AM
Sunday    4:00 - 6:00 PM

If you do not have an appointment, the gate may be closed.

Remain in or beside your car. Do not come into the front yard of the kennel office, or into the office. Please call when you arrive and wait for us outside in, or by you car. If you do not get an answer, toot your horn a couple of times, or call again. We will exchange your pet and belongings in the parking lot. We will keep your dog’s leash and collar or harness in order to return your dog to you.

Please wear a mask when dropping your pet(s) off and when picking them up.

Check-In Sheets

Please download our Check-In Sheet, fill it out and sign. Be sure to clearly state:

   • The doses, frequency, and any special instructions for all medications

   • The quantiy of Dog Park Play Times or Pasture Walks

   • Grooming, if needed. If grooming is requested, and you want to pickup your pet in the morning, we may need to reschedule the pickup for the afternoon.

Rather than making cash or check payments, we would like for you to pay in advance before you pickup your pet using PayPal. Call before you arrive and get the correct amount. If you have an account, just

   • login to PayPal.com

   • Click on Send Money

   • Enter, To: sales@southern-star-ranch.com.

   • Please check 'To friends and family' to save a fee being charged to us.

If you do not have a PayPal account, enter the link below into your browser. It will allow you to pay without setting up an account, but rather by designating your Credit Card or Bank Account information. For example, if you owe $300.00, you would enter

If you do not have a checking account or credit card, to use on PayPal, we will accept cash or check payments.
